2005 ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

At the May 2005 awards assembly the following four students were awarded  $500.00 scholarships to be used at community colleges in Arizona: Andrea Caldwell, Fernando Aponte, Valerie Higgins, and Fernando Lino.

The Association received the below responses from two of the recipients.

Andrea Caldwell

My name is Andrea Caldwell and I am writing this letter to thank you for the Alumni scholarship. It helps me fulfill my college goals. I know that this scholarship will be put to good use. I am very excited to have received this scholarship. I wanted to personally write you a letter thanking you for providing me with this scholarship. I won’t let you down.

Thank you for selecting me as a Camelback High School Alumni Scholarship recipient. I realize committees spend hours sorting through numerous candidates and am grateful for individuals like you who put in the time to promote higher education. At the moment, I hold one of the highest grades in an advanced summer calculus course at Phoenix College, and it is solely because of your scholarship that I was able to take advantage of the opportunity. I am honored to have received your scholarship and assure you it is in good use.
