OBITUARIES: ’79 GUYS

 

John Joseph “J.J.” Giannantonio, 33, of Phoenix, an actor, aerobics instructor and a waiter at Aunt Chiladas, died March 9, 1994.  He was born in Staten Island, NY, and was nominated for three Zony awards.  Survivors include his companion, Richard LeClair; parents, Lucille and John; sisters, Debbie Bies and Gail Brown; and brothers, Robert and Gregg.

 

Glenn E. Quick III, 48, of Phoenix, eldest son of Glenn E. Quick, Jr. and Mary Jane Martin, died May 15, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle School, graduated from Madison #1 Elementary class of l975, and attended Camelback High School and Phoenix Junior College. Survivors included his father, Glenn E. Quick, Jr; mother, Mary Jane Martin; and brothers, Christopher M. Quick of El Cajon, CA, and Frank Mundy of Phoenix. The family thanks The Salvation Army, who was there for him in his hour of need.

 

Thomas James Sexton Jr., 45, of Ahwatukee AZ, passed away on May 17, 2007, following his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Chicago, attended Queen of Martyrs Grade School & Carl Sandburg High School while in IL, then graduated from Camelback High School in 1979 after his family moved to Phoenix AZ in 1976. His passion growing up was playing hockey, and he was an outstanding goaltender. Tom and his brother Tim spent many hours on frozen ponds learning to play hockey. He attended Arizona State University and was goaltender for the Ice Devil Hockey Team. Tom proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps. Tom's career began and ended as a partner with his Father, Tom Sr., for Sexton Painting & Roofing of Ahwatukee. Survivors included his parents, Annette Buteau-Sexton of Phoenix and Thomas James Sexton Sr. of Ahwatukee; sisters Annette, Kathleen and Colette; and brothers Timothy, Michael and Patrick.
