OBITUARIES: ’73 GUYS
Michael R. Bleier, 51, passed away May 12, 2007 in Washington, D.C. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on July 15, 1955, and attended Camelback High School. At the time of his death he was employed by WalMart and KFC Chicken in Cambridge, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward. Survivors include his mother, Ella Mae; brothers, Bill and Paul; and sisters, Patty and Betty. (excerpted from The Arizona Republic, 5/16/2007)
Ron Kemmis, 54, died March 10, 2009, of pneumonia, in Eugene, Oregon. He was born Feb 17, 1955, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He graduated from Camelback High School in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1973. Survivors include his mother, Ann-Marie Watkins of Eugene; his father, Dwayne Kemmis of Spokane; two sisters, Peggy Paukune of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Lisa Kemmis of Big Rapids, Mich.; and three brothers, Greg Kemmis of St. Paul, Minn., Mark Kemmis of Lutz, Fla., and Peter Watkins of Aurora, Ill. A brother, Stephen, died in 1957.
Toni Ray Richardson, 50, born in Phoenix, AZ, passed away on December 15, 2006, in Phoenix. He had many jobs after graduating, including his own exterminating business and an antique business. He loved the old furniture, tools and appliances of bygone years, and rented antiques to the TV and movie industry, even working as a set dresser and extra. Along with his parents, he helped restore houses, a family truck and motorcycles. Survivors included his parents, Virginia and Morris Richardson; a sister, Karen (Richardson) Fels; and an aunt, Joyce (Richardson) Stevens (Camelback High ’57); and many cousins.
