OBITUARIES: ’70 GUYS
James Howard Snodgrass, 59, of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on November 10, 2010. Diagnosed less than one year ago with cancer, his battle was brief - yet courageous. He served in the United States Air Force after graduating from Camelback High School in 1970. He then dedicated his life to serving patients who were chemically dependent and mentally ill. He maintained close friendships with his friends and neighbors, and could eat Mexican food everyday if you would let him. He spoiled his grandchildren with unconditional love, and held his wife and only daughter very close. His positive, unselfish and devoted spirit will be missed by those of us grieving this loss. Survivors included his wife, Linda; daughter, Erica Smith; step-sons: Scott and Stephen Pickering; and sister, Margaret. He was predeceased by siblings Diane Snodgrass Bickford, Karen Snodgrass Whitehurst and Lawrence "Skip" Snodgrass. (excerpted/edited from The Arizona Republic, 11/14/2010)
